Our Little Recap

"Um. Like what? I'm the third born in a family of... six kids. I'm three years older than Amanda, making me seventeen. I shaved my head because someone had to and I'm the brother in charge of Amanda's safety so it of course should be me to do it and I actually found it fun. I shaved my head in front of Amanda and she cried the entire time. Um... My hair is a dirty blonde and I'm the shortest guy in my family. That is, unless you count Aaron or my Dad who is missing his legs. He often jokes that he saved me from being the shortest. I get my height from my mother. My middle name is Cole and... well, that's about it. Oh yeah, I play baseball."

I gaped, "Wow that's cool! Umm... I'm second born in my family of four kids, eight years older than Maggy and ten years younger than Hayden, he's my oldest brother... and then in between I'm four years older than Kristen. A-Anyway... Keely Raine Burke is my whole name. Just realized I have a little bit of something in common with your dad!" I stuck out my bad leg it was gone to my knee though rather than completely. "Only I was born without it... my family says I'm the most awkward child and my friends used to call my cyborg only I don't have one half of me made of electronics..."

I was really rambling. *____*

"Oh wow! That's really cool!" I smiled, looking at her leg. "Yeah, Dad wiggles his nubs at us when he gets mad, then he looks at them and starts laughing. He's really weird." I shoved my hands in my pockets and walked down the hall with her. "Now, was cyborg used jokingly, or to bully you?"

"Jokingly. I've heard a whole lot worse than that, trust me. Someone called me a gimpy and I really hate that one... I'm not sure why, I just do." I shrugged and leaned on my crutch, walking exhausted me, I was giggling though about his dad, he sounded like someone easy to get along with.

"I can't wait to meet your family." I said.

I grinned."They're all great. You'll love them! And I'm sure Andy will love to see a new human face! She can't leave the house and she's upset about that. Hopefully she doesn't cling to you all day. Dad... will probably pick you up and set you in his lap as usual and ride you around the house... and Katie will show you her entire aquarium of fish and I'm sure Zack and Ian will want to show you their cat." I smiled. "I just hope you aren't easily overwhelmed, because if you are... you might want to reconsider."

"Me? Easily overwhelmed? HAH! That's a joke... no, I'm not. I spend all day talking to cancer patients and painting pictures for them, my dad is a surgeon and well... to be honest it's just something I'm used to. Being around a lot of people at once is not new to me and I love meeting people." I explained with a confident grin.

"Oh, well then... that's good! I don't want to overwhelm you or anything." I rubbed my bald head. "Eh... I'm still not used to not having hair. It's really weird."

"Maybe so but I think it makes you look tough!" I put my thumb out to give him a thumbs up, "Maybe I should shave my head too!" I had really long blond hair, normally pulled back in a loose braid and my bangs curled a little around my cheeks. "What do you think?

I shook my head. "No, I think hair suits you... please don't shave it off!" It'd make me really sad if she did! I liked her hair. It made her look really cute. >.>

"Besides, then Amanda and I wouldn't be original anymore."

I nodded, "Maggy would kill me, she says she really didn't like being bald and she didn't want anyone to sympathy shave for her but her best friend did it." I smiled suddenly and patted his head, "You look like a soldier!"

I'm sure I was pretty red when she did that. "Ah, I do? How? Do I really walk that stiffly?"

"N-No, it's just you look like you could be a soldier!" I offered cheerfully as we exited the hospital, the air was so cool today and it felt lovely since I'd been inside most of last night and this morning.

"Oh, well... cool!" I grinned. "So I should shave my head and be a soldier for Halloween then? That'd be pretty cool! Thanks for the idea!" I led her down the sidewalk in the direction of our house. The house wasn't too far from the hospital, thankfully.

"Yeah, I think I'll be a nurse this year, we can go together!" I offered, it was a little while before that but I didn't mind talking about it and making plans.

"Oh yeah, that'd be fun! And we could dress in like, nineteen-fifties style and you could wear that little triangular nurse cap!" I grinned.

"Oh, that would be so cool!!" I gaped and started to walk backwards, "I think we should make this a group thing!"

Darn. So much for just the two of us. >.>

"Y-Yeah! We need someone dressed as a pilot and another person dressed as a flight attendant!" I smiled to her.

"Maybe!" I was starting to rethink the group thing when I stumbled and fell flat on my back, the sidewalk was hard, I forgot that these things aren't made of pillows. T-T

"Oh no!" I rushed over to her and helped her sit up. "A-Are you okay? Are you scraped up anywhere?" I looked her over worriedly. I should have been watching her better! T-T

"Don't worry about it, I'm okay." I looked into his eyes and felt my face grow warm at a surprising rate, looking away instantly with my eyes closed tight. "Th-Thanks..." What was that weird tight feeling in my stomach? I couldn't even begin to figure out what I was feeling, my throat was tight too.

"No problem," I wrapped my arms around her and helped her stand up. "Can you stand?" I asked, keeping my arms around her to help her stay up in case her foot was hurting her. "You're fine?"

The blush was making me sweat a little and I bit my lip, "Ahaha... yeah I'm just fine. I told you that I'm the awkward one in my family... this happens a lot..." I rubbed my tail bone and turned to walk facing forward next to him. "'Sides... I have my crutch..."

"Kay... be careful next time... falls like that hurt. They hurt to watch too." I frowned a little, trying to forgive myself for letting her fall.

I felt the back of my head to make sure I hadn't cut myself or bruised it, just touching it I was certain there was a little bruise, "I'm sorry, I just don't think sometimes..."

"Well, I would have caught you if you were closer, but you were a little out of my reach unfortunately..." I rubbed my bald head and yawned. "I am going to blame it on my sleepiness that you fell. I just wasn't quick enough to catch you and it was my fault. You're not a klutz." I grinned at her. "You're sure you're fine?"
