When You Were Gone...

I kissed her and then messed with her hair some. "Man... you're really beautiful."

"Hey... don't mess up my hair!" I reached up and roughed his a little bit. "We need to talk though, we need to really be honest with each other."

I nodded slowly. "We do. I promise I will be more honest with you from now on." I said truthfully.

"Let's talk right now then." I moved onto his lap and rested my head against his chest, "Tell me everything you want to tell me."

I sighed some and wrapped my arm around her. "I really want to marry you. I really do. You are everything to me and I can't imagine being without you."

"Okay, I agree... when should we get married?" I asked.

I shrugged a little. "Whenever you're ready to." I said softly. "I don't mind waiting... I just want to know that you can really see us getting married."

"I can... I really can. I'm sorry." I smiled at him a little bit. "I think we need each other..."

"I think so too... considering there are some things I need two hands for... and you need legs for..."

I laughed a little, "Right, so we're serious now... that's good."

I nodded. "We are very serious. And I dare say we are the best couple ever."

"So we should get engaged... but I won't rush you." I kissed him and then wiggled back onto my chair, "I need to finish eating though! Food will get cold."

I nodded and for the first time, we actually had a real conversation while we ate. It was great, and both of us were happy.
