She was less than pleased too, "What the heck is wrong with you?!" Amber let out a long list of profanities I'd never repeat to anyone.

"Not in front of the baby." I muttered, it disgusted me. I felt so tired and even getting up was a pain.

I turned back around and ran to him. I slipped my arm under his to help him up until I was too short to help. "Be careful... do you need me to drive you home? I left my car here last week."

"Yeah... that might be good." I was shaking still and not sure if I could even handle anymore school for the day. Amber was still shouting at me but I didn't want to hear it.

"Thanks."

"Anytime, Bud." I grabbed his backpack and held it for him. I was watching him closely. If he fell, I'd cushion his blow if I could.

Dang, what is in this backpack? It's so heavy!

I took my backpack from her and soon we were at her car. It was a moment like this when I wished I had my mom, even though Sam was there I always knew that Mom would have made sure that I was comfortable in a smoke free environment. I'd be staying at Sam's again.

I opened the door for him and tossed his backpack in the trunk. "Let's go home!" I said with a grin. This time, there was an excuse for leaving early!

The ride home, though comfortable, felt kind of tough because I wasn't sure what to say about what happened.

"You believe me right...?" I asked, glancing at her.

"I'm your best friend. If I didn't believe you, I wouldn't be helping you." I offered him a warm smiled before turning back to the task at had, which was driving.

"But no one else does, even though I've never done anything like that. And if she really is..." I felt angry, I hadn't wanted to be with her but I hadn't cheated one her either. >|

"It's okay, I punched her for you." I gave him a quick pat on the shoulder and pulled into the driveway. Good thing my house wasn't far from the school. It didn't take long.

I used my inhaler again, twice in fact, before I climbed out of the car and went for my backpack. I had so much on my mind, knowing that Amber would try to prove her case and more than likely she'd deny any sort of tests if it was true.

"I'm sorry, I'm kind of irritated today." I apologized to Sam. "I may not be much fun today."

"It's okay, I understand! Just don't be rude and I'll be fine!" I ran to the door and held it open for him with a big, sweet grin.

I could have gotten it but I had a feeling she was trying to help me since I was still gripping my inhaler like a lifeline. I thanked her and walked in, dropping my backpack.

I stood there for a minute and tried not to break down.

I closed the door with a sigh. Mom wasn't home from work yet. "It's gonna be okay, Big Guy. Life's not over yet." I said, moving to give him as big a hug as I could... which wasn't very big either. I'm not tall. In fact, I'm the opposite. I'm rather short.

I ended up hugging her back, probably tighter than I should have. I admitted shakily that I wished I had my Mom still, at least then I could go home to someone that understood. I had never felt so... vulnerable.

And I didn't even want it to get to me.

His hug... hurt. But I always cherished his hugs, though. I know he didn't want to hurt me. I smiled despite myself. "It'll be okay, Will. You haven't lost everything."

"Okay..." I said tiredly. I backed away and looked down at her with a smile, "Is there pizza tonight...?"

"I don't know... I guess we could order one..." I said with a shrug. "And play Life?" I said with a laugh. "Whoever ends up with the largest debt wins?"

"Sounds like a plan to me." I needed something to take my mind off of the pain that I felt, I still felt kind of lightheaded but other than that, alive.

At least I had a good excuse to be out of school!

I ran to the phone and about 45 minutes later, the pizza arrived! And we began playing Life. Which I failed at miserably. I won a celebrity idol contest and won $100,000. Sigh.

"Rich woman." I sighed as I moved my car along. She'd pay her debts quite easily. >|

"I know! I hate it! I never win Life!" I said, pulling my husband out of the car and dropping him on the proverbial road of life. I grabbed Will out of his car and set him in my car with me. "Best friends forever. Stupid husband can't even figure out how to spend money!" D<

I chuckled, "Wow, so now I have to lose the game too?" I asked. She didn't seem to want to lose which meant I had to stick with her and gather a rather large amount of money. But I liked my debt! T-T

"No! You can still use your little car. But the proverbial you in this game of life, is ith me, in my car, because we're best friends." I said, laughing. "You're still gonna beat me..."

"Sorry about that then." I grinned, I wasn't sure how long we'd even been playing but it'd cheered me up considerably!
