And he doesn't even know...

I woke up to my small body hitting the floor with a thump. Thankfully, it was only my back that hit the floor. I sighed heavily before sitting up with a groan. "What a way to wake up."

"You okay?" I woke up instantly, I hated the fact that I hadn't held her tighter so she wouldn't fall.

I smiled. "Yeah, I'm fine! I shouldn't move so much when I sleep!"

I helped her up off the floor and looked at the clock but I couldn't see it from where I sat.

"What's up?" I asked softly, looking at him with a small smile. "What're you looking at?"

"Just trying to see how long I slept..." I said, I had to be to work pretty soon since I'd taken on the night shift more recently.

"Oh..." I looked at the clock and frowned. "Aw... so soon?" I frowned. "I'll see you in the morning then, I guess."

"I'll be home around eleven tonight though..." I smiled, "is there anything you need me to bring back from the store?" I asked.

"Yourself." I said with a smile and leaned forward to give him a sweet kiss on the lips. "Well, actually... I need a razor..."

"A razor? Okay." I started to make a list, ready to end up buying more than that.

"And some deodorant! The little black dress one! And some shaving cream! I think it's cherry blossom smell! That's all!"

"Okay." I wrote down everything and then went to make her some dinner and get ready for work.

But when I came back from work I knew she would kill me. OnO

I was cooking dinner and such when I heard his keys unlocking the door. I giggled happily and flipped the humongous pancake I'd made for him.

I set down all the bags in the living room, holding my breath at her reaction and trying to act cheerful, especially over the pancake smell. <3

"Sorry I'm a bit late." I called out, "I just got distracted...."

"Distracted with what?" I asked curiously, finishing the pancake and dropping it on his plate. "Giant pancake just for you!"

"Great, thanks!" I decided to just kind of not say anything about it and go eat breakfast with her. But eventually she'd look in the bags and figure it out.

I was a dead man and this would be my last, precious, pancake. T-T

"I already ate. Sorry, I just couldn't wait any longer!" I said as I ran to get my stuff from the bag. "Wow, how many bags did she give you?" I laughed, when I started digging through them. "Wow... there's a lot of stuff here..." I flipped through everything he'd gotten. Learning toys, pacifiers, sippie cups... bibs, those little teachy plastic place mats... "How much was all of this stuff...?"

"Half my pay check..." I was dead and I knew it and I couldn't believe how much I did and how dead I was and how badly she would kill me for spending hard earned money in one sitting.

I gulped. There's no way the store would take back all this stuff anyway. "Okay then..." I smiled though. "We'll tuck all this stuff away until we need it. Please don't buy anything else until you know what size diaper they'll need." I laughed at it... he'd gotten the toddler size.

I pouted, "Alwight..." I felt really bad for doing that and some of the stuff I thought she might really like too, but I'd screwed up and if I did it again she'd be at my throat.

I walked over and kissed his cheek before hugging him softly. "Thank you for caring so much about the baby. "We'll make do. I get paid next week anyway."

I smiled softly and picked at my food a little, I didn't feel good and mostly because I was exhausted from work the night before. In two hours I had classes. >.< I pulled my inhaler out of my pocket when I felt my chest go tight.

"Dang it..." I muttered while shaking it up.

I rubbed his hair softly. He always worked so hard. He'd kill himself if he kept doing this.

"I need..." I inhaled again and after I was done I continued, "a nap, at least a short one before I have to go to classes."

"Go get you one then! The pancake can be re-heated in the microwave!" I kissed his cheek and smiled. "I washed the bedsheets too! They're clean now! <3"
