Truth and Falsehood

"Oh, Adder? He's still recovering, but he's much better... he'll make it through." Kynen smiled. "I think he has his eyes on my sister though." He laughed a bit. "Everything is right in the world again... especially when I'm eating apples with you."

"Oh really? Hmm..." Then she blushed, her eyes got really big and she looked away shyly, "Hmm... it is nice, isn't it?"

"It's always nice. I look forward to your visits, you know." Kynen's cheeks were flushed, but his grin never dimmed.

"I try to visit as much as I can." Rina smiled and then coughed, still looking away from him. "I'm sorry, I have a little bit of a chest cold..."

Kynen gulped nervously, his heart racing. "Oh, I see..." That didn't really bother him, but... was she trying to say she wasn't interested? "I couldn't even tell until you told me... you always look beautiful."

"What? It's not that bad..." Rina frowned and tried to look back at him, she was flustered. "Are you upset with me?"

Kynen shook his head quickly. "N-No! I'm not at all upset with you! I'm sorry if I seem like it... I just... don't always really know what to say. I can be pretty bad with words at times..." Then his eyes widened. "But I'm not upset with you! I don't even know what I would be upset with you for!!"

"I see... I'm sorry. Thank you for saying I'm beautiful though..." Rina was blushing all over again.

"Oh... you're welcome, but I meant it. You've always been beautiful to me..." He said, his own cheeks flushing brightly.

"You're handsome..." Rina huffed, she was still really flustered, "Um... would you like to stay for dinner? Or go somewhere for dinner? Or just stay here and eat apples all night? The stars are going to be pretty..."

"I'd love to do that..." He replied, reaching his hand out to take hers. "Actually, I could take you out to eat, and we can stay up all night and watch the stars."

Rina gasped, "Really?! That would be so fun!" She jumped up, "Let me take this basket inside and then we can go!"

Kynen pulled his hand back since she pulled hers away and he nodded with his ever-present smile. "Alright, I'll wait here for you then!" He stood up and dusted himself off.

Adder rolled over and opened his eyes with a big yawn. It was almost time for the healer to come in and change his bandages. He still would have preferred it if it were Amon who would do it. Her hands her soft and gentle, and he was so happy to have her... thought she still didn't know that. It had been a few days since they had gotten him out of the dungeon and he still hadn't seen her yet. She must have not been feeling well at all... though she did kill that wizard... maybe she was upset.

The door creaked open and Adder turned to stare at it... and in walked the healer. She was old, and creepy... and he didn't particularly enjoy her hands bandaging him near his important reproductive systems.

Amoneha blinked nervously, it was so hard to remember what happened. She could remember a dead body... but before that was all a blur. She limped in behind the healer and smiled when she saw Adder, looking much better than he had before.

Adder's expression brightened when he saw her, and he grinned then. "Amon! Hey!" He tried to sit up, but he was immediately pushed back down again. "How are you feeling? You look great!"

"I can't feel my hands... but other than that, I'm wonderful." Amoneha approached him and sat at the edge of the bed, "I'm so glad you are alright..."

"You can't feel them?" Adder frowned and took her hands in his own. "I'm much better now that I see you are. That wizard didn't hurt you, did he?"

"No... not that I know of, I've been numb this whole time, I'm not really worried about it. I'll feel better soon." Amoneha took her hands back and then hugged him gently, she didn't want to hurt him. "Don't you ever scare me like that again."

"I won't, I promise." Adder smiled gently and jumped a slight in surprise while the old woman was wrapping his thighs. "How has the king been taking things? He hasn't come to see me at all."

"He's actually really tired... I think it took a lot out of him." Amoneha said, she glared at the healer, "Let me do it please..."

Adder's cheeks flushed a bright pink, but he tried to ignore it. "I see... I'm sure it did."

"Are you certain? I'm not certain you would want to bandage him in such... intimate places, my Lady Seer." She smiled softly, but Amoneha's glare didn't waver, so the older woman nodded curtly. "Very well, I will leave you be then." She gathered up the skirt of her dress and left the room, and Adder's thigh partially bandaged.

"Thank you for everything you've done for me. I really owe you." Adder smiled to Amon. "You were really strong and brave."

Amoneha smiled at him as she went to work on his bandages, "You owe me nothing, you saved my life a long time ago. Just consider my debt repaid." She was very gentle with him, but her hands were a little shaky. "You don't owe me a thing."

Adder gulped some and nodded. "Well, how about... as soon as I get better, I make you some of the finest beef stew you have ever had? I'm really craving beef stew, and I doubt you've had it, considering it isn't exactly fine cuisine. I think you'd like it."

"That should be good, but you don't owe me anything." Amoneha finished and then sat back near him again, folding her hands together. "I'm so sorry..."

Adder tilted his head a bit, "What time are you sorry for? Everything is well now... and I'm not imprisoned, all thanks to you." He smiled kindly to her.
